Google Phone Infusion New Pixel 9

Google pixel 9

Google's new Pixel 9 series offers significant improvements in fingerprint scanner technology, according to a recent report from Android Authority. The current optical fingerprint sensor will be replaced by an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is faster and more reliable.

This new scanner is capable of reading wet or oily fingerprints, which means an improvement in the device's unlocking performance and avoids problems that may arise due to light levels or dry fingers that were affecting the reader.

An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is expected to be included in all Pixel 9 models, except for the Fold 2 which is expected to retain the current fingerprint sensor. We'll learn more details during Google's Pixel 9 launch event scheduled for August 13.
